Standardizing MES Connectivity: Overcoming Heterogeneous Equipment Barriers
In traditional SMT and electronics assembly lines, proprietary machine protocols remain the primary bottleneck in digital transformation. During the event, Jack Chang, Overseas Business Development Manager at Sunjsong, delivered a keynote address titled "IPC-CFX / Hermes Smart Factory Communication Integration in Practice." The session addressed field data isolation, illustrating how the IPC-2591 (CFX) open industrial standard and the IPC-HERMES-9852 machine-to-machine protocol establish standardized data flows that communicate directly with MES without costly, custom engineering.
