Sunjsong Showcases SMT IPC Standards at Touch Taiwan 2026

Eliminating Information Silos: Replacing SMEMA with a Digital Backbone

In highly automated Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production lines, the lack of unified communication protocols among different equipment brands often creates severe "information silos." The traditional SMEMA interface, lacking system-level coordination, is prone to PCB transfer errors and unexpected downtime, significantly increasing the integration and maintenance costs of customized I/O systems.

Sunjsong and GEA IPC Present Dual International Standard Integration

To address these automation challenges, Sunjsong is partnering with GEA IPC at the upcoming Touch Taiwan exhibition to showcase a state-of-the-art solution. The live demonstration will highlight how the implementation of IPC-HERMES-9852 and IPC-2591 (CFX) establishes a truly seamless digital data flow for SMT lines:

  • IPC-HERMES-9852 (The Modern Replacement for SMEMA): By utilizing real-time board connection technology, critical data such as PCB ID, dimensions, and orientation are transmitted accurately. This allows equipment to perform automatic width adjustments, ensuring 100% changeover accuracy. This standardized protocol effectively reduces integration and maintenance costs by 40%.

  • IPC-2591-CFX (Vertical Process Data Integration): Utilizing the highly secure AMQP v1.0 transport protocol and JSON data formats, this standard instantly connects process parameters and alarm information from critical equipment (AOI, SPI, Reflow) directly to MES or ERP systems. Automated process data exchange improves automation capabilities by 66%, reduces changeover time by 30% through centralized information management, and boosts overall capacity efficiency by 33%.
